Falling asleep to the moonlight sonata

Shadows take over the sun,
footsteps echo on cement like
heartbeats in anticipation
of a dance-like courting.

Under the watch of falling leaves,
chasing dreams and song, there is a room:

Watching the fingers
which excitedly attack
bone and wood in a flurry
of notes.

[finally discover music
(falling asleep to the moonlight sonata) (like wind-breath) from another room]

Shutting the windows
to take in an aural fragrance,
drifting off like rain-cups,

Return to see the sunshine
shyly winking (secret whispers);
there is suddenly an understanding of forever as
footsteps echo on cement like
heartbeats in anticipation.
